James and Carolyn File celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 7, 2019. They were married March 7, 1969 at Gold Hill Baptist Church. A trip to Biloxi, Miss. is planned in June.

James worked for Delta Electric for 30 years. Now he is a shuttle driver for Cloninger Ford. Carolyn retired from the Salisbury Post Office in 2005 after working 17 years.

The Files have two children, Vickie File of Salisbury and Jeff (Betsy) File of Faith. They have two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
