SALISBURY — Three people were arrested for possession of counterfeit money early Friday morning.
Officers with the Salisbury Police Department pulled over a 2018 Nissan Altima at Tractor Supply. They asked the driver, Darren Cyrus Alade, 25, of Pennsylvania, for permission to search the car.
Officers found two counterfeit $100 bills in the glove compartment and blank paper similar in texture to the counterfeit bills.
Two passengers — a man and a woman — also were arrested after refusing to give identification.
The three were also charged with resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer. They are being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under $25,000 bond each.
