A Mooresville man and a Cleveland woman were charged Monday with robbing someone they offered a ride to.
Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies got a call Monday about an armed robbery in progress at 838 Mazeppa Road.
When deputies arrived, they spoke to the victim, who told them he had met Christopher Jordan Minier, 27, of Mount Ulla Highway, Mooresville, and his girlfriend, Bethany Janine Gibson, 26. of Triplette Road, Cleveland, and they offered to give him a ride.
They were going to a residence in the area of Mooresville, when Gibson pulled into a parking lot. Minier then quickly got out of the front passenger side door and got into the back seat with the victim. Minier took the passenger’s money and pushed him out of the car.
While Deputy Souther was getting an arrest warrant on Minier for common law robbery, he was able to identify the female suspect as Gibson. Souther secured an arrest warrant on Gibson for aid and abet common law robbery.
Deputies received information of a possible location for the suspects on Mount Ulla Highway. The deputies went to the location where they found and arrested both subjects. Both suspects were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.
Minier was charged with felony common law robbery. Magistrate S. Nicholson issued a $3,000 secured bond for the charge.
Gibson was charged with felony aid and abet common law robbery. Nicholson issued a $1,000 bond for the charge.
