Man seriously injured in Friday morning hit-and-run

SALISBURY — The N.C. Highway Patrol is asking for help from the public to identify a motorist who struck a Salisbury man early Friday morning in a hit-and-run accident.
The accident occurred at 12:10 a.m. in the area of Old Concord Road near Webb Road. The driver left the scene.
The pedestrian, Kristopher Shane Cruse, is from the Salisbury area.
Cruse’s medical condition was considered serious. He was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Highway Patrol officials said evidence indicates a Chevrolet vehicle was involved in the collision.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the North Carolina Highway Patrol at 704-639-7574. The primary investigator is Trooper B.E. Freeze.
