UPDATED: Hodges identified as woman shot Monday

UPDATE: Police have identified the shooting victim as Debra Jane Hodges, who is in stable condition. Officials said they do not feel the shooting was random and believe that Hodges was the intended target. No suspects have been identified. Police will provide more details as they become available.
SALISBURY — A 49-year-old woman was shot last night near the intersection of Union Heights Boulevard and Crown Point Boulevard.
Salisbury Police were sent to the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m. Monday in reference to a gunshot victim.
Officers arriving on scene found the woman with a single gunshot wound to her upper chest. Officers began administering first aid to the victim until Salisbury Fire and Rowan EMS arrived on scene.
The victim, who was conscious and alert on scene, was transported by ambulance to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for further treatment of her wound.
