Solid Rock Church of God
The Women’s Ministry of Solid Rock Church of God, 1004 Locke St., will host its annual Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday. Evangelist Shelia Bush, associate minister of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, will break the bread of life. Rev. Samuel A. Washington is host pastor.
‘Fight Night’
Rev. Bryan Cunningham will be presenting a sermonette program entitled “Fight Night” on Saturday, May 18 at 5 p.m. This program will be a fundraiser held at the Vineyard Worship Center, 2655 Dunns Mountain Road.

Sandy Ridge AME Zion
The historic Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church, will celebrate its 153rd church anniversary on Sunday with the theme: “We’ve Come This Far By Faith…153 years, The celebration begins at the 10 a.m. service withthe message by the pastor, Rev. Clarence J. Shuford Jr.
Music will be rendered by the J. Murdock Mass Choir under the direction of Aftin Murdock with Minister of Music C. Eugene Caldwell and Ron Graham, accompanists. Members who have passed since May 2018 will be remembered during this service.
Following an anniversary luncheon, 3 p.m. service will feature Rev. Patrick Tate, pastor of Southern City AME Zion Church of East Spencer. Rev. Tate is currently an assistant principal at Hickory High School, and holds an undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a masters degree from Winston-Salem State University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate from Wingate University, and a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary.
Mrs. Arnetta Long, a life-long member, will be honored for her continued service and commitment to the church. Cheryl Sue Rollins Thomas will be inducted into the Church Hall of Fame.
China Grove Church Of God
CHINA GROVE — China Grove Church of God, 413 Franklin St., will hold revival services Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with Evangelist Margaret Whichard.

Soldiers Memorial AME Zion
Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church, 306 N. Church St., will celebrate its 155th Anniversary on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service on the theme of “Our Miracle Story of Sacrifice and Commitment.” The Honorable Mayor Al Heggins is the guest speaker.
The program will honor four long-standing members who are 90 years old and older.It will also highlight 10 historical facts about the church. Artifacts and pictures will be displayed in the Enrichment Center. reception will follow the service.

CLEVELAND — The Missionary Department of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church will host a Missionary Rainbow Tea Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to be held at Rowan – Iredell VF Department, 5757 Chenault Road. Rev. Eddie L. Fortson is host pastor.
Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist
Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road,will observe Women’s Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Diane Roberts, associate minister of Mt. Cavary Holiness Church of Salisbury. The theme for this 2019 event is “A Woman’s Journey.” All ladies are asked to wear the color red. Host pastor is Rev. Clarence E. Marlin.

The intstallation service of pastor Rev. L. Alvin Patterson of St. Matthew’s Baptist Church of Rockwell will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. The service will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave. The installation message will be given by the pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist, Rev. Dr. NilousAvery II.
New Bethel Baptist
MOCKSVILLE — New Bethel Baptist Church, 3727 US Hwy 601 South, will host its annual Family and Friends Day Program on Sunday at 3 p.m. There will be special guest vocalists, praise dancers and musicians from out of town and local. Host pastor is Rev. John R. Bankhead Jr.

SPENCER — Rhema Praise and Worship Church, 117 Long Ferry Road, is celebrating its eighth Usher’s Anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Tiffany Miller of Macedonia Baptist Church of Salisbury is the guest speaker. Host pastor is Rev. Alonza Williams Sr.
Love Christian Center
EAST SPENCER — A Womens’ Program will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Love Christian Center, 102 N. Long St. The speaker will be Minister Paula Cuthbertson Tripp.
Her organization, Women in Progress, was founded in 2010. Under the covering of Prophet Kwana Farrar (Raleigh), Minister Tripp will soon be opening the doors of her own ministry TCM (Training Camp Ministry Salisbury ). She holds two degrees in early childhood education and has been teaching the youth for 15 years. She served in the military for 13 years, received a medical retirement in 2016 and is currently working at St. John CDC.
President of the Women’s Department is Elder Marlene Morgan.
New London UMC
NEW LONDON — On Sunday New London United Methodist Church, 206 S. Main St., will host a concert in its Music and Missions Concert Series, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Daniel Dickens (church pianist and music teacher at Richfield and Aquadale Elementary Schools) and the Richfield School Chorus will perform. North Kannapolis Baptist
KANNAPOLIS — Patrick Hunter, minister of music and youth at North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St., will present a “Night of Worship” on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The concert will also feature vocalist Rebecca Ledford of Sanford, and pianist Jerrod Godwin from Raleigh, all graduates of Campbell University. Admission is free. A love offering will be received to help fund the church’s upcoming youth mission trip to Boston, Mass. in July.
A reception will follow in McMurray Hall.
United Ministerial Alliance
The United Ministerial Alliance will host its joint worship service at 7 p.m., Sunday at Saint Luke Baptist Church, 410 Hawkinstown Road. Rev. William D. Turner, Pastor Emeritus of Tower of Power United Holy Church, will deliver the message. Rev. Marcus Fairley is host pastor.
David King will have a special presentation on the re-entry program for ex-offenders at the UMA’s 11 a.m. business meeting on Saturday at Tower of Power United Holy Church, 601 E. Cemetery St.
