SALISBURY — A Newsome Road man says he was robbed while sitting on his front porch by two men wearing bandanas covering their faces.
The Salisbury Police Department says no arrests have been made.
The incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Newsome Road. The 58-year-old man was sitting on the porch smoking a cigarette when an older, midsize vehicle pulled into his driveway. Two black men wearing black bandanas with white designs ran onto the porch with guns pointing at him.
The men demanded money, so he gave them his wallet. Police said the thieves took $20. The victim told police the vehicle’s high beams were on and he was not able to get a clear description of the vehicle.
The man was not harmed in the robbery.
In a separate incident Sunday, a man was robbed near Brenner Crossing Apartments while on an afternoon walk.
The 32-year-old man told police he was walking as he usually does about 1:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Standish Street when a black man ran up to him with a gun pointed in his face. The gunman said “hey” and demanded money, according to a department report.
The victim said he took his wallet out, and the thief grabbed it, took $60 and ran away. The victim said he picked up his wallet and ran in the other direction. He was not harmed.
