On behalf of our more than 10,000 Rowan County veterans, we take this opportunity to say “thank you” to the more than 200 Scouts who turned out on Saturday morning to place approximately 27,000 American flags on the graves of our veterans at our Salisbury National Cemetery.

What an honor and privilege it was to witness this flag ceremony in preparation for Memorial Day. It took less than 45 minutes to place a flag on each and every grave. What a wonderful and memorable experience for our youth. We salute and sincerely thank you.
