Salisbury Stallions playing in Carolina Virginia Collegiate League

MOUNT ULLA — The Salisbury Stallions, a team in the Carolina Virginia Collegiate League, will plays its home games at West Rowan High School.
The CVCL is a summer baseball league for current college players.
The Stallions, off to a 1-2 start, will host the Catawba Valley Stars (1-3) in their home opener tonight at 7 p.m. Salisbury played a doubleheader against Catawba Valley last Thursday at Lenoir-Rhyne , winning, 10-3, and losing, 6-1.
The Salisbury team, coached by Zachary Wiggs, competes in the CVCL’s Western Division with Catawba Valley, the Kernersville Bulldogs and the Roanoke Rails. The Eastern Division also has four teams — Fuquay Varina Twins, Wake Forest Fungo, Carolina Thunder and Carolina Pirates.
The Stallions’ team owner is Dwight Davenport. Other team officials are site director Chris Lankford and general manager Danny Fraga.
Salisbury has a 25-man roster, from a variety of college and junior college programs.
