Local artist/musician Destiny Stone and Salisbury resident Devora Neely have teamed up to host a Saturday event inspired by Stone’s hit song “Black Girl.”

The free event — Hey, Black Girl Festival will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Cannon Park, 600 Park Ave.

“We want to empower and celebrate black girls of all ages,” Neely said.

There will be a number of performances, a youth fashion show where little girls will model what they want to be when they grow up or their favorite role model.

There will be food vendors, games and activities for children.
