Rowan weather: Air Quality Action Day

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality in Raleigh has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for ground level
ozone for our area, in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
An Air Quality Action Day means that ground level ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. Try to limit outdoor activities for children, seniors and those with heart or lung disease. For more information, visit the N.C. Division of Air Quality at

Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 90 and light and variable wind. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible after 1 p.m. The low will be 69, with partly cloudy skies and calm wind.
Saturday will be mostly sunny and 91, with calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Saturday night will be partly cloudy and 70, with light southwest wind.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and 92, with west southwest wind at 3-7 mph. It will be a mostly clear night with a low of 71.
Monday will be mostly sunny and 92, with a low of 70 and partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and 94. The low will be 72, with a few clouds.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 94. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy and 72.
For the Fourth of July, it will be partly sunny and 93, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
