SALISBURY — An overnight bomb threat phoned in to Walmart proved false but prompted an evacuation of the store.
, say Salisbury Police officials after store evacuation.
Someone called the Walmart at 323 S. Arlington St. at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday and spoke to a manager. The caller said he was “tired of Walmart” and was quitting, according to a Salisbury Police Department report.
The caller also said he was leaving the store a “parting gift” and that he had left a pipe bomb in a restroom toilet, said police Lt. Greg Beam.
Beam said the manager evacuated the building as a precaution, but nothing was found. Store management said no employee had quit recently.
