Kindred launches food drive in Cabarrus and Rowan counties
SALISBURY — Kindred at Home team members will canvass Cabarrus and Rowan counties with food collection bags throughout the month of August.
Donations will be gathered for Cooperative Christian Ministries and Rowan Helping Ministries, two of many benefactors of Kindred’s 15th annual food drive.
Kindred at Home employees across the country are placing food collection bags in their communities and will collect the “harvest” during August.
The company aims to beat the amount collected in 2018, when more than 300,000 meals were donated to food banks and charities across the country.
“Our caregivers often tap into community resources to best serve our patients and their families, so they know firsthand the demand for assistance placed upon food banks, pantries and other charitable organizations,” said Susan Wear, senior home health specialist.
“According to Feeding America, nearly 5 million senior citizens face hunger in our country and many are regularly faced with the difficult choice or buying food or paying for medical care,” Wear said. “Ensuring that the most basic component of good health — food — is available for those in need is the right thing to do for a company like Kindred at Home and for the community as a whole.”

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. — Led by the addition of its first office in South Dakota, Weichert Real Estate Affiliates continued to expand its U.S. market presence with 17 new office signings in the second quarter.
The growth contributed to a 6.6 percent increase in national market presence compared to the same time last year.
The Southwest and West regions accounted for most of the new offices, with nearly two-thirds in Arizona, Texas and California.
Weichert Real Estate Affiliates also continued to grow its national footprint with the addition of offices in Connecticut, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Illinois.
“We’re committed to providing our franchise offices with all the resources a company would need to compete at the highest level, which makes it easier for them to do what they do best: take care of their agents and their clients,” said Bill Scavone, president and chief operating officer.
“There’s no need for our affiliates to reinvent the wheel; we have everything they need to succeed,” added Scavone. “When you layer in our personalized coaching and proven management systems, our blueprint is second to none in helping affiliates build world-class brokerages and capture a larger share of their local market.”
