Blotter: Cherry Street vehicle fire under investigation

SALISBURY — Police and fire investigators are looking into a vehicle arson reported early Sunday in the 600 block of Cherry Street.
Officials said a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was parked outside a home when the fire ignited.
A neighbor said she went outside to smoke about 4:45 a.m. and did not see a fire.
Police say the fire originated in the rear of the car.

• A man reported vandalism Sunday in the 400 block of West Franklin Street.
• A man reported Sunday that his son was robbed while out drinking in downtown Salisbury on Saturday night.
• A woman reported a larceny Sunday in the 700 block of South Jackson Street.
• A man reported Sunday that someone stole items from his vehicle parked in the 200 block of Faith Road.
• A man reported an assault Sunday in the 600 block of Little Street.
• A woman reported a stolen vehicle Monday in the 1400 block of Crosby Street.
• A man reported Monday that someone stole items from his vehicle parked in the 400 block of Elm Street.
• Elijah Shemar Hammonds, 19, was charged Sunday with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance in the 1600 block of Standish Street.
• Lucas Alexander Britt, 18, and Jessica Robyn Baker, 16, were charged Sunday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in the 1600 block of Wellington Hills Circle.

• Garrow Utility Contracting Inc. reported Friday that someone stole items from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Fisherman’s Lane.
• A woman reported an assault Friday in the 1100 block of Long Ferry Road.
• A man reported credit card fraud Friday in the 1000 block of Claire’s Place, Rockwell.
• A woman reported an assault Saturday in the 600 block of Timberlane Trail.
• A woman reported an assault Saturday in the 10700 block of Old Concord Road, China Grove.
• A woman reported an assault Saturday in the 4700 block of Brown Road, Mount Ulla.
• A man reported a stolen moped Saturday in the 6400 block of Enochville Circle, Kannapolis.
• Enterprise Farm Trust reported a stolen vehicle Sunday in the 1100 block of Long Ferry Road.
• Larry Michael Rollins, 49, was charged Friday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance at Old Beatty Ford and China Grove roads, China Grove.
• Elicia Breanna Head, 24, was charged Friday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of Pauline Court, China Grove.
• Sergio Cruz, 27, was charged Friday with felony possession of stolen goods in the 900 block of Mount Vernon Road, Woodleaf.
• Matthew Louis Bodak, 30, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 600 block of Timberlane Trail.
