ROCKWELL — Stephanie Walker is running for a third term on the Rockwell Board of Aldermen.
Walker has worked with IBM for 14 years as a business manager and has a degree in graphic arts.
In her past terms as alderwoman, she has served as the Rowan-Salisbury Schools liaison for the town and also was on the personnel committee.
Walker said she helped facilitate work that Girl Scout Troop 2370 did at Rockwell Park. She also helped with other park enhancements and the implementation of 20 registered geocaches in town.
“I think partnering with local youth groups and schools helps age gaps in the community,” Walker said.
Outside her political life, Walker is a mother of two. As part of that role, she identifies as a band mom, Girl Scout mom, Boy Scout mom, soccer mom, wrestling mom, and karate mom.
Walker’s family is connected to her political aspirations, as she wants the community to be the best place it can be to raise her family.
“Rockwell is a great little town to raise a family,” she said. “I’m committed to helping ‘update’ the town a bit. We are working on a website upgrade and perhaps a few other image updates that I think will help share how great a little town it is.”
