Fifty years of loving, caring and sharing. Jim and Cindy (Ramsey) Pope were married on Aug. 24, 1969 at First United Church of Christ in Salisbury by Reverend Lonnie Carpenter.

Mr. Pope is former owner of Pope and Arey Food Store and retired after a career in teaching from the Rowan-Salisbury School System. Mrs. Pope retired after a long career in teaching from the Rowan-Salisbury School System as well as being a devoted homemaker.

They have three children, James Pope III and wife Chelsea, Tara Pope Gardner and husband Adam and Stacey Pope Furr and husband Allen. They have also been blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Jay and Eden Rose Pope of Portland, Ore. and Lizzie, Will and Ben Furr of Richfield.
The Popes are planning an anniversary trip later this year.
