Letter: Drive collects thousands of items

Communities In Schools of Rowan County recently concluded its 2019 School Tools Drive.
Local businesses, civic groups, and individuals contributed a total of more than 14,500 items of school supplies to be distributed to students in need. The drive is co-sponsored by WSOC-TV in Charlotte.
Participants included the Salisbury Elks Club, Daimler Truck Manufacturing Plant, State Employees Credit Union, F&M Bank, Food Lion Retail Business Services, Trinity Oaks Retirement Community, Church Women United, Pray Rowan, ARC of Rowan, Rufty Holmes Senior Center, Smart Start Rowan, First Bank, Ashley Rose and Johanna Lovvorn.
Communities in Schools Rowan thanks all those that help to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Communities in Schools Rowan is a member agency of Rowan County United Way.
