SALISBURY – Well-known retailers Burlington Coat Factory and Home Goods will soon count Salisbury among their store locations.
The two stores have been granted zoning permits, according to Shane Stewart, assistant planning director for the Rowan County Planning and Development Department. The stores will be located in a shopping center on Julian Road that currently counts Dick’s Sporting Goods and Hobby Lobby among its tenants.
The size of the Burlington Coat Factory will be about 35,000 square feet, while the HomeGoods store will be roughly 22,000 square feet, Stewart said in a phone interview.
“We’re excited in terms of the overall process of working with the Hutton Development Group so far,” he said. “We have worked closely with Hutton and have had a great working relationship with them and the engineers involved thus far.”
Home Goods is known for selling furniture, hampers, rugs, decor, bedding and art pieces.
Burlington Coat Factory sells furniture, coats, jackets, and casual and dress clothes for children, teenagers, adults and babies. It also sells bedding, decor, jewelry, accessories and toys.
Attempts to reach representatives of Burlington Coat Factory and Home Goods were unsuccessful as were requests for comment to Hutton Development Group.
The date when construction is set to wrap up is unclear.
