Ushers Convention at Guiding Light

Horizon Church hosts bash

St. Paul’s Episcopal, 930 South Main St., is having its annual homecoming on Sunday, starting with Morning Prayer at 10:30 a.m. followed by a covered dish luncheon in the Parish Hall.
Global Missions Sunday at Southern City
EAST SPENCER — Southern City AME Zion Church, 940 South Long St., celebrates Global Missions Sunday at the 11 a.m. service with speaker Rev. Margaret Anderson, associate minister of Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church and current president of the AME Zion Church International Ministers’ Spouses and Widows(ers) Fellowship.
Global Missions Sunday is being observed in all AME Zion Churches across the world. Marva McCain is the local Missionary President and Rev. Patrick Tate is host pastor.
Homecoming at Concordia Lutheran
CHINA GROVE — Concordia Lutheran Church will hold homecoming on Sunday at the 11 a.m. service. Note the History Room, which contains furnishings from the original church built in 1882 and a pump organ used in worship prior to 1949. Historical memorabilia will be displayed in the fellowship hall.
Fellowship breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m. and the 11 a.m. speaker is Taylor Rister, from the North American Lutheran Seminary, and currently a seminary intern for St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Maiden.
A picnic lunch will follow the service.
