LANDIS – Dollar General recently celebrated the grand opening of its newly store at 805 Coldwater St. in Landis.

The location features a new layout designed to make shopping easier for customers. Features include seasonal products in the center of the store, easily recognizable signage for departments and coolers at the front of the store.

Dollar General stores sell national and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, and health and beauty care products.

At the cash register of every Dollar General, customers who want to learn to read of speak English or get a general education diploma can pick up a brochure with a postage-paid reply card to get a referral to a local organization that offers free literacy services.

Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $172 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, helping more than 11 million people take their first steps toward literacy or continued education.
