SALISBURY — Two men got into an argument at a local restaurant, and one of them ended up at the hospital, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Police charged Jerry Hawthorne Wall, 56, with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

Wall and Frank Young got into a verbal altercation while watching a game at DJs Restaurant on Sept. 14, police said.

A report said the two were intoxicated and Young took a swing at Wall. The fight was broken up and officers took the men to West Side Manor Apartments, where they got into another fight.

Young was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for injuries from the fights. Wall gave a written promise to appear in court on the charge.
