SALISBURY — A Rowan County woman who was on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office’s most-wanted list was arrested in New York and awaits extradition back here, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Shanna Shamania Jones, 39, was placed on the list twice, most recently in April for failure to notify authorities of an address change.
Jones was arrested last month in Jefferson County, New York.
She was originally placed on the most-wanted list in April 2018 for the same reason. Later in 2018, she was arrested in Connecticut and returned to Rowan County. Jones received a probationary sentence and was released from jail.
Jones then moved again and was charged with failure to notify authorities of her new address.
During the new search for Jones, detectives found that she had a Facebook account, which resulted in a new felony charge of failure to notify authorities of an online identifier as a register sex offender.
