SALISBURY – The latest Food Lion-New Sarum Brewing collaboration will hit Salisbury area stores this week.

Santa’s Cookies, a sugar cookie and white chocolate golden milk stout, is brewed using 300 Food Lion sugar cookies.

Throughout the 2019 college football season, Food Lion partnered with 11 colleges and universities through the Food Lion Feeds hunger relief initiative.

For every quarterback sack made by the participating college, Food Lion Feeds donated 1,000 meals to the local Feeding America-affiliated food bank.

One of these partnerships was with Catawba College. The team recorded 19 sacks this year, so Food Lion Feeds donated 19,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, which serves Rowan County.

In recognition of its programs offering customers innovative ways to save, Food Lion received two Best in Class Awards for its customer loyalty program and customer experience strategy at the national 2019 Loyalty360 Expo.

The awards recognize industry leaders across several categories centered on building trusting relationships with customers in a meaningful and measurable way.
