First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St. hosts a Blue Christmas Service on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., designed for those who are having a difficult time with the holiday season.

Henderson Grove
Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church’s annual Christmas program is Sunday at 11 a.m. featuring poetry, Christmas music, traditional Christmas bags and an original play titled “I Know I’ve Been Changed,” written by Brenda Rice-McNeely. Rev. Perry Dye is host pastor.

Immanuel Lutheran Cantata
ROCKWELL — The Immanuel Lutheran Church Chancel Choir, 2070 Emanuel Church Road, under the direction of Dr. Dwayne Robertson, will present the cantata “The Advent of Hope, The Birth of Peace” during the 11 a.m. service. Callie Trexler and Kayla Trexler will perform an introductory duet. This Christmas musical was written by Robert Lau and Stephen Andrews and features musical selections which combine traditional carols with newer tunes to capture the essence of the Nativity, intertwined with narration by Nathan Wyatt. Rev. Bruce Sheeks is host pastor.

United Baptist Church
KANNAPOLIS — United Baptist Church, 3001 Clermont Ave.. holds its rescheduled Candle Light Service on Sunday at 6 p.m. Rev. Clayton Riggs, pastor of Prayer Harvest Church, will preach. Rev. John E. Jones is host pastor.

Landmark Church
The annual Christmas program at Landmark Church, 1910 Mooresville Road, is Sunday at 6 p.m. The adult choir, under the direction of Mary Williams, will present “MESSIAH, Heaven’s Glory,” featuring the youth and children. Mica Poteat is choreographer; Richard Kelly is narrator. Featured performers are Hillary Robinson, Bobby Sawyer, Megan Smith, Mike Robinson, Madison Smith, Bailey Zino and Merritt Robinson.

Jubilee Choir
33rd annual Jubilee Choir Christmas Concert, “Shout for Joy,” is 5 p.m. Sunday at Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church, 306 N. Church St. Featuring soloists Doris Goodman, Phyllis Partee, Walter James, Rebecca Stinson as well as narration, dancers and musical accompaniments. Refreshments following the concert. KANNAPOLIS — The Adult Choir of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St., presents a musical program, “Peace on Earth,” on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Christmas Eve Family Service — 5 p.m. Dec. 24 in the sanctuary; a Christmas service with children in mind. Musicians include the 9:27 worship team, choir, and handbells. Prelude begins at 4:30 p.m.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service — 8 p.m. Dec. 24 in the sanctuary. The story of Christmas as presented by brass, choirs, handbells, festival liturgy, and candlelight. Preludes begin at 7:30 p.m.

New London UMC
NEW LONDON — Children’s Christmas Program at New London United Methodist Church, 206 S. Main St., is Sunday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. The children will present “The Very Important Christmas Pageant,” by Dennis Hartin.
Christmas Cantata — Dec. 22: By the Chancel Choir, children’s choir, and handbell choir present the cantata “A Thrill of Hope” as part of the 11 worship service. The Chancel Choir is under the direction of Suzie Martin, accompanied by Daniel Dickens. A nursery is provided.
Christmas Eve Service — Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. Prior to the service will be special music by Daniel Dickens and friends, including the reading of scriptures leading up to the birth of Jesus, and concludes with the lighting of candles.

Providence AME Zion
Providence AME Zion Church, 2414 Providence Church Road, presents “Lights of Love” on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. Host pastor is Zacharias E. Allen Sr.

Oakdale Baptist
