Letter: Democrats don’t realize voters aren’t stupid

Who would have thunk it?
Speaker Nancy Pelosi wearing a pillow stuffed Santa suit, accompanied by her two chief elves — Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff for brains — have fired up the old solar-powered sleigh early this year, bringing the Republicans a bulging sack full of cheer.
Several months ago, I submitted a letter to the Post literally begging Pelosi to impeach President Donald Trump. At the time, I received some negative feedback from some of my fellow conservative “pen pals.” I may receive some here.
The reason this impeachment is such a great gift lies within the last two Firehouse/Optimus national quarterly tracking polls. Their September poll clearly showed Trump losing to Democrats Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Those are states the Democrats must win to have any chance of taking back the White House.
Enter Santa Pelosi’s impeachment. The Firehouse December poll now has Trump clearly ahead of every Democratic candidate in all three states. Some showing a double-digit lead. This is why Pelosi is throwing Trump a bone by bringing his U.S.-Mexica-Canada trade deal to the floor after sitting on it for seven months. It’s the old “yeah, we hate his guts, but we’re not completely evil.”
Pelosi didn’t want this impeachment, but the socialist Democrats have gained so much power she had no choice. The problem with today’s leadership within the Democratic Party is that they’re “too stupid” to realize that American voters “aren’t stupid.”
Stay tuned for act two. To paraphrase the Beatles: Bang bang Barr and Durham’s silver sledgehammer will come down on the Democrats’ head.
If major Democratic players aren’t terrified, they are foolish indeed.
