GRANITE QUARRY — The Granite Quarry-Faith Police Authority is looking for three men who police said robbed the Star Arcade on Wednesday evening and took the security system footage with them, according to Chief Mark Cook.
The suspects went into the Star Arcade, 215 N. Salisbury Ave., and are thought to have left the building closer to 4:30 p.m., Cook said.
According to Cook, a clerk told police three men entered the business and went to one of the gaming tables. After a short time being there, one of them asked to purchase a drink. When the clerk left the office to retrieve the drink, the suspect pulled a handgun and was joined by two others.
The men forced the clerk back into the office, where they removed cash and the security system DVR. All three ran away on foot across Main Street and west on Peeler Street toward Civic Park, with one of them carrying the DVR box, police said.
No description of a suspect vehicle was available. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office assisted with searching for the suspects and provided a K-9 track.
The suspects were described by police as three males in their mid-to-late 20s. The suspect with the gun was wearing an all-black, hooded sweatshirt with khaki-colored jeans and was about 6 feet tall. The second suspect was wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt, with red and black stripes on the sleeves, and blue jeans. The third suspect was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt with gray writing on it and blue jeans.
Anyone who observed any activity in the area or can provide any assistance in locating the suspects is asked to call the Granite Quarry-Faith Police Authority at 704-279-2952.
