Installation service at Love Christian Center Saturday
EAST SPENCER — Elder Antonio (Toney) Snipes will be installed as the new pastor of Love Christian Center, 102 N. Long St. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. Pastor Martha Starks, Bishop Charles Hash and Bishop Ronald Hash will be conducting the installation service.
Pastor Snipes received ministerial training from Central Carolina Theological School located in Salisbury and received additional training through Prepare Enrich in Harrisburg, Pa., earning a certification in Marriage Counseling.
He is currently attending More Than Conquerers College in Charlotte, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling.
Minister Snipes and his wife Madeleine currently reside in Woodleaf and are the parents of Toney Jr., Yuell, Amber and Daja.

Pastoral anniversary concludes at Fairview Heights
Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will conclude Pastor Clarence E. Marlin and Evangelist Cathye Marlin’s 19th pastoral anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 12. The 11 a.m. guest speaker will be Rev. Stanley Rice. Dinner will follow in the fellowship Hall.
The 3 p.m. guest speaker will be Rev. Cornelius Atkinson of Wilson Heights Church of God in Charlotte.
Barry McGee at Lyerly Evangelical
ROCKWELL — Barry McGee, Christian humorist, dramatist and musician, will lead worship at Lyerly Evangelical Church, 1320 Crescent Road, on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
McGee is a NASCAR chaplain and winner of many awards, He has performed with Lee Greenwood, Ricky Skaggs, Charlie Daniels and other celebrity figures. Most recently, he has expanded his ministry to local nursing homes.

Youth observe Victoria Richardson Day at Cedar Grove
The Youth of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, 2430 Hildebrand Road, will observe Victoria Richardson Day on Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service. Lee Kennedy, preacher at Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church of East Spencer, will be the guest speaker. The Youth will participate in the service.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Mass Choir anniversary
CHINA GROVE — The Mass Choir of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1205 South Main St., will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 12. The program begins at 3 p.m. We invite all choirs,quartets praise dancers and soloists. Host pastor is Rev. Dr. Keith Curry.
North Kannapolis Baptist Church hosts opioid seminar
KANNAPOLIS — North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St., will host a seminar titled “The Opioid Epidemic and Older Adults” on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m.-noon in McMurray Hall.
Lunch will be served at noon at no charge (donations accepted).
Speaker will be Pastor Matty Ponce-de-Leon of Arlington First Baptist Church in Jonesville. In addition to sharing illustrations from his own pastoral experiences, addiction history, and research, he will share Biblical truths to address this challenge to communities and churches.
