Give and Take Event Saturday
RICHFIELD — Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Richfield will hold a Give and Take Event on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Much like a yard sale, but with no money involved, there will be a variety of toys, clothes, and household items available free for anyone who can use them. Genesis Baptist holds 5 days of revival services

Pastor Emeritus bestowed
On Jan. 19, St. Peters’ Lutheran Church of Salisbury bestowed on Rev. John E. Pless the title of Pastor Emeritus.
The resolution from the congregation read “Rev. John E. Pless loyally served God with inspirational sermons, ministerial care, and leadership in the community.”
Pastor Pless served St. Peters’ from 1975-1984. During that time the average Sunday attendance increased to more than 300. The award was presented by Rev. Phil Tonneson, assistant to the Bishop of the NC Synod, Rev. Sean Barrett, pastor of St. Peter’s and George Lent, president of the congregation.
