Here’s an answer to Roger Barbee’s My Turn published Jan. 28 (“Fine to debate founder’s intent, not God’s”)

Matthew 10:34 says, in the words of Jesus: “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I come not to send peace but a sword.”

In Luke 22:36, Jesus said: “But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his script, and let he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.”

I believe this tells me I can defend myself by keeping and bearing arms.
