Many know Karen Alexander as the mayor of Salisbury, but to me she is a true pillar of the community. Alexander is someone who devotes all of her time to the city of Salisbury and its people. From early in the morning to late at night, she constantly works for everyone.

For months now, I have watched her give everything she has for our wonderful city. Citizens may occasionally see her briefly mentioned in the paper, but she does not get the coverage she deserves. If you know Karen, you know that she finds a way to make time for everyone in Salisbury. No matter the need, she finds a way to meet with anyone. Karen always finds time to attend every community event to show her support or to provide guidance. As Karen works hard for her community, she continues to be devoted to her family, church, and friends.

As mayor, she continues to work hard, if not harder than she did when she was a councilwoman. She is the perfect example of what it means to possess statesmanship. No matter who you are, remember that Karen is working hard for you 24/7.
