Letter: Facts for Fox News viewers
The economy is cyclical, and presidents often receive more blame or credit than they deserve. When the economy bottoms out, there is only one direction for it to go. Whoever is in office gets credit for the recovery.
— Bruce LaRue
Schools could rework class rankings …
What’s wrong with setting a goal and taking extra classes to meet that goal of being valedictorian or salutatorian if you choose to do so? If you’ve worked that hard to achieve it, you should receive it. This would be such a mistake to take it away.

Letter: Make the best of ongoing solar farm moratorium
Kudos to county commissioners for the moratorium to prevent Rowan County from becoming the solar “farm” dumping ground of the region.

… Withdraw application for ‘no wake zone’ …
Commissioners in my opinion haven’t done much as far as High Rock Lake is concerned.
We have no public areas like Davidson County has for recreational swimming.
I believe there was once a discussion of such a place off of Price Road, on File Road. That was never developed. Commissioners did not take ownership of the Wil-Cox bridge on U.S. 29 at the Yadkin River and look what Davidson County has done.
— James Lambert
… Developers should look to southern Rowan
Our schools are lacking in providing the education necessary for this development. N.C. legislators need to provide the finances to improve the RSS.
County commissioners also need to support this initiative, including pressure on our state legislature to improve teacher pay and provide supplies and tools for student development.
— George W. Benson
I want to be sure that you understand that this is not a story of a bunch of ungrateful brats who just want developers to go away.
The problem is that the city of Concord is approving development and passing the buck to the N.C. DOT and Cabarrus County Schools to solve for the rest.
This is a math problem and a communication problem.
— Bryan Snyder
… Ellis runs as Democratic state senate candidate
It’s wonderful to know we have a person, like Ms. Ellis running.
— Angie Hunter
… Commissioner candidates discuss vision …
Let’s do a better job with erosion and pollution and stormwater drainage in our county that has polluted our creeks and High Rock Lake.

Letter: Rowan Democrats should vote for Klobuchar
I already voted for Bloomberg. I’d rather have a president bought by American money than by Russian money like last time. But blue no matter who.
— William H. Moffitt
I’m with you 100%. Senator Amy Kloubuchar can be described as “progressive yet practical.” She is without doubt the best choice for president.
