SALISBURY — A 35-year-old man was assaulted on Monday by two teens while at Salisbury City Park, police said, after a verbal altercation regarding the care of the juveniles’ toddler sister.
Salisbury Police spokesman Lee Walker said a 16-and 17-year-old were at the park, 380 W. Miller St., with their 2-year-old sister when the young girl fell into the water. The boys were able to get her out without any injury. The man told the teens they should take better care of their sister. There was a heated exchange between the teens and the man, Walker said.
The man began to walk back to his car but then turned back toward the teens. According to Walker, the man then took off his shirt and the three began fighting.
No charges have been filed at this time but the matter has been referred to juvenile services, Walker said.
