MOORESVILLE — A Mooresville man was seriously injured when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding overturned several times. His wife found him in a field behind their Bradshaw Road home.

Lonnie Wade Gordon, 46, was found unconscious by his wife, Teresa. She told a Rowan County Sheriff’s deputy they had some people at their home on Saturday who all were on a back porch. She left to go get her vehicle. She saw the ATV turned over, ran to the field but did not initially see him, according to a department report

Teresa Gordon said she then thought her husband had gone into the house, but did not find him there either. She ran back to the field and found him. He was unresponsive so she began performing CPR, the report said.

A friend returned to the home and continued CPR while Teresa called 911. Lonnie Gordon was flown via MedCenter Air to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he remains.
