Blotter: Rockwell man charged with assault on female and unauthorized use of vehicle

ROCKWELL — David Lucas Dyson, 29, was arrested on Friday on two misdemeanor charges of assault on a female and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Dyson, of Quantz Lane in Rockwell, was arrested for an offense that occurred in January where he “hit a woman in the mouth with the back of his hand,” according to an arrest report.

Dyson was also arrested for the unauthorized use of the vehicle belonging to the woman he struck.

In other arrest reports:

  • Dustin Blake Sloop, 32, of China Grove, was arrested on Saturday for a misdemeanor charge of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor charge of injury to real property after allegedly damaging four motion lights, a door jamb and chain link fence at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, located on the 800 block of Old Linn Road in China Grove. Sloop also lives on the 800 block of Old Linn Road. He’s currently at the Rowan County Detention Center and faces a $3,000 bond.
