KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Fire Department responded just after 9 p.m. Monday to structure fire at New York Pizza, 1401 N Cannon Blvd.

Firefighters arrived within three minutes to smoke coming from the roof of the restaurant. Fire crews worked inside and on the roof to extinguish the fire. The fire was under control within 20 minutes, according to city spokeswoman Annette Privette Keller.

Kannapolis Fire was assisted by Concord and Landis fire departments as well as Rowan County EMS at the incident. Officials reported no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
