The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a double fatality following a two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of N.C. 801 and Woodleaf Road, according to scanner traffic.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. Woodleaf Road was blocked for all traffic, excluding emergency services.

The total number of people involved in the crash was not available but rescue crews reported two people were pinned in when they arrived on the scene.
