Elizabeth Cook concluded her letter to the editor published Sunday by saying, “Now more than ever, the paper needs your support.” I could not agree more.

We have a full subscription to the Salisbury Post and a weekend subscription to The Charlotte Observer. Since March 7, when the Observer dropped its Saturday edition, all weekend subscribers received the paper all days of the week. Since the Observer and the Post are delivered by the same carrier, our papers arrive on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. We save the Observer and read it when there is no Salisbury Post.

It provides another respected news source and another way to support one of democracy’s most essential friends, a free press.
