St. John’s Lutheran Church scholarships
St. John’s Lutheran Church awarded scholarships to 34 students totaling $26,256. The scholarships are the result of gifts from members who want to encourage and support students in their post-secondary education. The scholarships are part of the St. John’s Benevolent Foundation, which started in 1974.

College honors
Payton Holt, of Mt. Ulla, was awarded the Emory and Henry College Athletic Department’s Female Newcomer of the Year award.
Landon Ketchie, of Salisbury, was one of 169 Piedmont student athletes named to the USA South Atlantic Conference Academic All-Conference team.
