LANDIS — Landis town officials announced a rain date for the Christmas tree lighting event.

Initially, town officials planned to hold the Downtown Landis Christmas tree lighting ceremony following the conclusion of the South Rowan Christmas Parade. However, weather forecasts of heavy rain prompted officials of Landis and China Grove to cancel the parade.

On Monday, it was announced that the Downtown Tree Lighting event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 5-7 p.m. on Central Avenue. The tree will light at 6 p.m. Kids’ crafts, Christmas characters and food vendors will be on site.
