High school basketball: Juke scores 39, Hornet boys rally to win opener

HIGH POINT — Salisbury star Juke Harris was in mid-season form on opening night for the Hornets.
Harris scored 39 points, as Salisbury rallied in the fourth quarter for a 74-67 win against Central Carolina Prep in the head-coaching debut of Albert Perkins.
It was the seventh game already for Central Carolina Prep (4-3), and they jumped out to a big early lead in a game played at Wesleyan Christian Academy.
Harris, who blocked two shots, shot 11-for-22 from the floor. He was 0-for-4 on 3-pointers, but Central Carolina couldn’t keep the Wake Forest signee off the foul line. He was 17-for-20 on free throws.
Sophomore Braylon Taylor contributed nine points. The Hornets got seven from Hank Webb and six from Bryce Dalton.
Deuce Walker had three steals and three assists, as the Hornets survived a 37-percent shooting night. The Hornets were 3-for-18 on 3-pointers. Dalton made two.
Salisbury plays again Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, a Georgia private school that plays a North Carolina schedule. The game will be played at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point.
