KANNAPOLIS— At their next meeting, the Kannapolis City City Council will be holding a public hearing on the Kellswater Commons development agreement. The proposed project is located on just over 11 acres at Kannapolis Parkway and Rogers Lake Road. It will involve the development of a grocery store retail shopping center that includes an outparcel building.

The meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 27, at the city hall building at 6 p.m. Here are the other agenda items that will be discussed:  

• Director of Communications Annette Privette Keller along with Communication Specialists Betsy Barnette and Sam Keck will be recognized for graduating the 2023 “Kannapolis 101” program.
• Mayor Darrell Hinnant will make a proclamation for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and National Native American Heritage Month.
• Assistant Planning Director Elizabeth McCarty will be giving a presentation asking for the voluntary annexation of a little over one acre of property located at 3060 Placid Road and for council to consider a motion to extend the corporate limits of Kannapolis. There will be a public hearing regarding this matter.
