ROWAN COUNTY — The Rowan Salisbury Schools’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department successfully hosted the much-anticipated “Careers on Wheels” event at the Rowan County Fairgrounds on Nov. 14.
The initiative aimed to provide sixth-grade students with an engaging and interactive introduction to various career paths by bringing over 30 diverse career vehicles to one location.
The event, which drew sixth-grade students across the district, showcased an impressive array of career options that go beyond traditional classroom learning. From fire trucks to food trucks, tractors to trailers, semi-trucks to dump trucks and even charming trolleys, the Careers on Wheels event allowed students to explore firsthand the vehicles associated with different professions.
“Rowan-Salisbury Schools CTE Department is committed to preparing our students for success in a rapidly evolving world,” said Stacey White, executive director of career and technical education for Rowan-Salisbury Schools. “The Careers on Wheels event was a fantastic opportunity for our sixth-grade students to not only see but experience the diversity of career options available to them.
