SALISBURY — A Saturday shooting left one person injured in Salisbury, according to police.

Salisbury police officers were responding to calls of shots fired on Old West Innes Street around 4 p.m., when they were notified that someone was being transported to the hospital with wounds sustained in the incident. Police canvassed the area and found the home where the shooting likely occurred, according to a Salisbury Police Department spokesperson.

When officers searched the home, located in the 200 block of Lloyd Street, they found what appeared to be fresh blood stains in the kitchen. The spokesperson said that the officers could not determine whether the person was injured inside the house or if they were injured outside and then escaped into the kitchen.

The spokesperson said that they also found a car at a nearby intersection with blood inside it. Police said that the vehicle was linked to the shooting but did not say how.

A witness reportedly saw a man in black clothing walking south away from the shooting with an “AR-style” rifle, according to the spokesperson.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333.
