Catawba College midfielder Sydney Jimmo earned first team All-America honors on Wednesday and Thursday.
The United Soccer Coaches announced its All-America teams Thursday afternoon.
With the honor, Jimmo became the first player in Catawba women’s soccer history with multiple first team All-America honors.
A graduate student from Shelburne, Vt., Jimmo had a career year, recording 18 goals and six assists for a total of 42 points, logging the most goals and points of any midfielder in the country this season. Jimmo was the lone member of the South Atlantic Conference to earn first team USC honors.
Catawba women’s soccer has now produced an All-American in three straight seasons, as Katie Beck, Sierra Davis and Hannah Dunn were All-Americans in 2021 before Beck added All-America honors for the second time in 2022.
Jimmo was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America team Wednesday.
The Catawba Indians reached the Southeast regional final for the first time under head coach Nick Brown, setting a program record with 19 victories and earning the first No. 1 national ranking in program and overall Catawba athletics history.
