SALISBURY — In the academic year 2022-23, the Communities In Schools (CIS) program has left an indelible mark on the lives of 3,722 students, with an impressive 295 individuals benefiting from targeted intensive support. The program’s unwavering commitment to student success has resulted in significant achievements across various vital metrics.
One of the program’s primary focuses was attendance. Thanks to the targeted support provided, 96 percent of students progressed toward meeting their attendance goals. That achievement underscores the CIS program’s effectiveness and highlights its impact on cultivating a culture of regular attendance among students.
Behavioral goals were another area where the program demonstrated substantial success. Notably, 85 percent of students either met or progressed in their behavior goals, showcasing the program’s ability to address and positively influence student conduct.
Academic progression is a cornerstone of the CIS program, and the outcomes from the 2022-23 academic year are remarkable. In total, 98 percent of students progressed in their coursework, demonstrating the program’s efficacy in supporting and enhancing academic achievements.
Engaging parents is an integral aspect of the CIS program, and this year saw 1,043 parents actively involved in their children’s educational journey. The program’s holistic approach, which extends beyond the classroom to include families, contributes significantly to fostering a supportive learning environment.
One of the most noteworthy achievements is the 100 percent on-time graduation rate for seniors enrolled in the CIS program. Every graduating senior completed their high school education within the designated timeframe, a testament to the program’s dedication to ensuring students meet critical milestones.
All those graduating seniors also had a post-secondary plan, setting them toward continued success beyond high school. The CIS program prepares students for academic achievement and guides them in making informed decisions about their future.
The Communities In Schools program continues to play a vital role in shaping students’ lives and contributing to the overall success of the educational community. The program’s dedication to providing targeted impact support, fostering positive behavior, and encouraging academic excellence is clearly having an impact on the students it serves.
