High school football: SC rolls 24-0 in Shrine Bowl

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — After a defensive struggle in the first half, South Carolina pulled away to beat North Carolina 24-0 in the 87th Shrine Bowl.
South Carolina led 3-0 at halftime.
Rock Hill quarterback Matthew Wilson, headed to Appalachian State, was the offensive MVP for South Carolina. He completed 8 of 14 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
Santwan Nelson of South Pointe was the S.C. defensive MVP.
North Carolina had only 49 yards of offense in the game, while South Carolina had 363 yards.
Salisbury’s Deuce Walker and Mike Geter were members of the North Carolina squad.
