SALISBURY — A man was arrested after police say he was found to be uploading and downloading child pornography on the internet.

Police initially began the investigation into the man in March after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force that there had been child pornography uploaded to the internet in a home in the 1700 block of North Main Street.

During the investigation, police eventually found evidence to support a search warrant against the home. Police executed that warrant on Friday, finding evidence of the allegations in the home’s basement.

Kevin Gutierrez Bautista, 20, was arrested on Friday and charged with felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and given a $15,000 bond.
