Former RCCC officer affirmed as Alamance Community College president

GRAHAM — The former chief officer of information services at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has been tapped to serve as president at another school.
A press release from Alamance Community College indicated that the board of trustees selected Dr. Ken Ingle as the next college president. The local board’s decision was affirmed on Dec. 15 the State Board of Community Colleges.
Ingle brings with him an extensive background in higher education leadership and a deep commitment to advancing educational excellence. In his position at RCCC, Ingle served played a pivotal role in spearheading strategic planning, enhancing institutional effectiveness and leveraging information technology to advance educational objectives. Notably, Ingle served on the president’s executive cabinet, contributing significantly to the college’s growth and success.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Ken Ingle as the next president of Alamance Community College,” said BG (R) Blake Williams, chair of the ACC Board of Trustees. “His proven track record in fostering innovation and student-centered approaches aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing exceptional education and opportunities for our students.”
Under Ingle’s leadership, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College received accolades as a top 10 digital community college for four consecutive years, a testament to his pursuit of innovation in education. His strategic vision and collaborative approach positioned the college at the forefront of technological advancements and academic excellence.
Motivated by a passion for advancing higher education, he actively engages in local, state and national initiatives aimed at fortifying the impact of community colleges. Ingle has served on the board of the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, where he is chair-elect for 2025; he is an active member of the Cabarrus County Rotary Club; and a member of the Rowan Education Collaborative. He was the recipient of the 2022 cohort of the Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship and the Belk Center Fellowship for the 2021 Achieving the Dream conference.
Ingle earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his master’s degree at Bellevue University. He earned his doctorate in community college leadership from North Carolina State University, where he also served as a North Carolina State University Graduate Ambassador. His educational background and professional experience in both the public and private sectors reflect his dedication to lifelong learning and his multifaceted approach to leadership in the ever-evolving landscape of higher education.
