High school basketball: Salisbury boys split two games in Concord, secure 2 seed for Moir tourney

CONCORD — Julius Chambers, a strong 4A, rolled 87-71 against Salisbury’s boys basketball team on Friday in the Phenom Hoops Classic at Cox Mill.
Chambers (6-3) bounced back from a loss to Central Cabarrus on Thursday and led the Hornets 24-9 after the first quarter and by 42-25 at halftime.
Chambers pushed the lead to 24 points after three quarters. The Hornets cut into the deficit some in the fourth.
Chambers put six men in double figures.
Juke Harris had 28 points and six rebounds for Salisbury (7-3).

CONCORD — Harris scored 27 points on Saturday afternoon as the Hornets beat Concord Academy 76-63.
Hank Webb scored a season-high 14, while Dashawn Brown had 10.
The Hornets (8-3) rallied from a 36-33 halftime deficit.
Concord Academy is 8-10.
Salisbury is seeded second in the Dale’s Sporting Goods Sam Moir Christmas Classic and will be play seventh-seeded East Rowan in the first round on Thursday.
