FAITH — The Faith Board of Aldermen will consider a resolution to approve the accepting of sealed bids to purchase the town-owned property on Brown Street.
The property, located just off of Main Street behind the F&M Bank, is a 1.13-acre property that the town purchased in 2002 for $40,000. The aldermen previously discussed the sale of the property during the December meeting. During that discussion, they agreed that any resolution that was agreed to in the future should have a minimum sale price attached to it. The specifics regarding the minimum and restrictions on future usages will be discussed during the upcoming meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday and will be held at the Faith Town Office, located at 100 N. Main St. The other agenda items that will be discussed will include:
- The board will hear reports from the different departments of the town’s government.
- The board will appoint liaisons to advisory boards and committees including the public safety, water and sewer, streets and beautification, zoning and planning, events and grants committees.
- The board will hear an update on the contract with Faith Academy Charter School for the leasing of the Jaycee ballpark.
- The board will hear a presentation regarding the results of a meeting with Salisbury staff about the future growth expectations and goals of both municipalities
